Michael Caines Restaurant at ABode Manchester wins Restaurant of the Year Award
Only six months after opening, the Michael Caines Restaurant has won the coveted Restaurant of the Year Award at the Manchester Food and Drink Awards 2008. The glitzy awards ceremony was held at the Palace Hotel in the extravagant Grand Ballroom and was hosted by Channel M's Gerry McLaughlin and the BBC's Becky Want. It was the climax of an amazing ten day food festival.
CityLife.co.uk editor Neil Sowerby, presenting the award, said it had been a difficult decision against outstanding opposition.
Executive Chef Ian Matfin, who came to ABode Manchester after a long stint alongside Michael Caines at the two Michelin star Gidleigh Park in Chagford, Devon, was also nominated for Chef of the Year.
ABode Manchester also won two more important awards on the night:
Young Chef of the Year - Adam Smith, Sous Chef
Outstanding Customer Service - Andrea Hamer, Trainee Manager
Says Michael, "What a great achievement for all the team, both in Manchester and for the ABode group as a whole. This is an amazing tribute to Abode Hotels and Michael Caines Restaurants, giving recognition to our underlying core values of excellence in food as well as in exceptional customer service. This is a fitting reward for all the hard work and dedication, and I believe it's just a start of more good things to come."
Many congratulations to the whole team at Michael Caines at ABode Manchester.
