Michael Caines at ABode Manchester wins Top Table diners' awards
Diners in Manchester have voted Michael Caines at ABode Manchester the best restaurant in the city.
The first toptable.com Manchester restaurant awards were based entirely on ratings and reviews provided by restaurant goers who visited the 64 eateries listed on the website.
The Michael Caines Restaurant claimed the top spot in two of the seven award categories including Best Overall Restaurant. It also clinched the award for Best Food.
toptable.com is the UK’s largest free restaurant reservation website where users are encouraged to rate restaurants after dining in them. The site books over 10,000 covers a day across the UK, Europe and New York and has nearly 500,000 diner reviews on site with 1000 reviews being added daily.
Despite being laden with critical acclaim from many of the country’s leading restaurant reviewers over the years, Michael Caines said he was delighted that his customers were also being given a voice.
He added, “We are very pleased to receive this award and to be recognised as one of the best dining establishments in the city. It is a real credit to my executive chef Ian Matfin, the team and all their hard work.”
The inaugural toptable.com Manchester awards reflect the site’s growth in the city where the credit crunch has failed to dent the appetite of restaurant goers.
Mat Braddy, Marketing Director for toptable.com, said, “The number of bookings made by Manchester diners increased by 95% over the last year bringing in 15,513 customers to the city’s restaurants and creating £570k in revenue for the sector.
“This is evidence of an ever growing interest in eating out and also that users are spending their money smartly.”
toptable.com receives over 2.2million visits per month and will generate £100 million in revenue for UK restaurants in 2008.
