Special occasions

ABode is home to Michael Caines restaurants serving Michael's innovative and award-winning modern European cuisine based on the best local produce. From intimate meals in the fine dining restaurant, a private party at the Chef's table or hot food & cool tunes in the Old Brewery Tavern, a glass of something sparkling and sophisticated in the Champagne Bar. Michael Caines at Abode is an inclusive proposition that has something for everyone.

If you are looking for somewhere special for a wedding, anniversary, private party, christening, wake or meeting, look no further than ABode Canterbury. From conferences and intimate meetings to private dining and banqueting, catering for 2 to 100 people we can tailor a personal package to suit your needs.

Michael Caines Champagne Bar
Our sophisticated city centre Champagne and Cocktail Bar has become one of the places in Canterbury to drop in to, any time of day or night. We offer an extensive choice of Champagnes by the glass, bottle, magnum or larger bottle size, and ranging from our excellent house MC Champagne through the best-known grandes marques, as well as vintage and deluxe cuvée Champagnes. Whatever the occasion - the everyday satisfaction of a professional or personal achievement - or the celebration of a lifetime milestone Champagne is a wine that uniquely makes us feel special. Come visit us and enjoy a flute or bottle, served with Michael Caines style.

The Wine Room
The Wine Room is a Private Dining area within the Michael Caines Restaurant, Separating the main restaurant and bar area, there is an impressive ‘wall of wine'. Maximum numbers 24.

ABode Canterbury also boasts its own ‘chef's table' where up to 14 guests can dine in privacy and see behind the scenes in the kitchen.

Cathedral Lounge
This wonderful room offers the opportunity to hold both formal meetings and relaxed informal gatherings. The main focal point of this room is the traditional furniture of the exsisting county hotel, where guests can relax during breaks or after a private dinner. The room is again, decorated with neutral colours, but also provides comfortable seating areas throughout the day for residents and diners to enjoy. This room is also ideal for afternoon tea gatherings between friends.

A dedicated events co-ordinator will be assigned to your event and will assist with the following plus any other reasonable request:

  • Take initial enquiry
  • Provide full quotation
  • Prepare and send contracts
  • Liaise with all departments to ensure meetings is a success
  • To greet clients on day of arrival
  • To ensure your meeting runs smoothly
  • Contact after event for any feedback

Meetings/Conferences

All our meeting rooms can be set up for specific requirements depending on capacity.  Each room will be set to your specification, to include comfortable chairs, glasses and mineral water. For each delegate, a blotter pad with ABode paper, pencil, stationary box, sweets and a bowl of fresh fruit will be in each room.

With a large selection of menus and refreshment options, delegates can adapt the event to meet their needs.
